Property damage / Insurance claims

Your safety and the safety of your whānau is the top priority.

Urgent claims

If:

  • Your property is uninhabitable, or
  • There are immediate safety concerns

Please contact your local ICIB office straight away to speak with one of our Claims Specialists or your Broker.

Non‑urgent claims

For non‑urgent damage, please complete the claim form on our Claims page.
One of our team will be in touch as soon as possible to guide you through the claims process.

If you have suffered damage

Following these steps can help prevent further loss and support your claim:

  • Do not do anything that puts your safety at risk.
  • Take clear photos or videos of all damaged property.
  • If safe, keep damaged items for insurer assessment.
  • Arrange essential or emergency repairs only, and keep all invoices.
  • Make the property safe and sanitary, but avoid non‑essential repairs.
  • Wear protective gear (such as gloves and masks), particularly where there may be contamination or hazardous materials.
